Therapy for adults in Denver, Boulder, and across Colorado. Offering virtual counseling for clients anywhere in the state of CO

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • You’re feeling stuck and you know life could be better than this.
  • You live outside of conventional norms, whether that be through queerness, gender identity, practicing non-monogamy, or being into kink.
  • You don’t want to have to educate your therapist about these things, but you know that an informed, supportive perspective could help.
  • You have clarity about what you want your life to look like, but uncertainty on how to get there.
  • In your relationships, you might be noticing the same challenges over and over – communication patterns or emotional cycles that wear you out.
  • You want to be kind to yourself and have healthy boundaries, but you end up prioritizing everyone else, and you’re left with scraps.

If any of this resonated with you, I’m glad you’re here!

My name is , and I can help.

I am a counselor in Denver, Colorado who offers telehealth video therapy for anyone in Colorado. I specialize in helping people with marginalized sexualities or gender identities build their most authentic, joyful lives. My style is collaborative and direct – I won’t just smile and nod, but instead actively guide you in finding your own answers. I use tools like parts work (IFS, also known as Internal Family Systems), transpersonal psychology, and somatic (body-centered) therapy to support clients in creating new solutions to old patterns.

It can be hard to find the right fit, so let’s set you up for success. Schedule a free, no-commitment 10-minute phone call with me to get a sense of my style and ask any questions you might have. My specialties include LGBTQIA+/Queer and Trans issues, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Kink/BDSM, Non-monogamy/Polyamory, Self Esteem, and Relationship Issues.

Non-Monogamy

Whether you’re in a structured open relationship, polyamory, or relationship anarchy, you need a therapist who won’t judge your relationship style or bring in the values of monogamy culture. Non-monogamous clients have unique needs when navigating their relationships – I can help you explore the specific challenges and feelings that come with unconventional relationship styles.

LGBTQIA

It can be frustrating when your sexual or gender identity is not understood by your mental health professional. As a queer, nonbinary therapist who works primarily with queer and trans clients, I can offer some ease, comfort, and understanding around gender and sexuality. Whether you’re looking for active support in these areas or just want to know that you’re working with someone who ‘gets it,’ I’ve got you covered.

Kink & BDSM

As a kink-friendly therapist, I understand that being into BDSM (or having specific fetishes) isn’t something wrong with you that needs to be fixed. There will be no need to defend, explain, or hide this part of your life – you won’t find stigmatization or pathologization here.

FAQ’s

I am in Denver, but thanks to working 100% telehealth, I can see clients living anywhere in the state of Colorado.

I currently only work with individual clients. If you are looking for a couples therapist with competency in non-monogamy, reach out and I can give you a referral!

I charge $125 per 50-minute session.

I accept payment through IvyPay, a HIPAA-compliant payment system that accepts all major credit, debit, and HSA cards.

I am considered an out of network provider meaning I do not take insurance. Insurance companies have the right to access your therapy notes and determine how many sessions they will allow us. They can decide to no longer cover sessions based on their interpretation of your progress and also require me to give you a diagnosis for billing purposes. I am passionate about being able to meet you where you are at in your process of healing and growth and don’t believe that people fit into the boxes insurance often requires of them. I am happy to offer you the necessary receipt or superbill to file with your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement of the session fee.

Some insurance plans offer to reimburse you up to a certain percentage if you see a mental health provider out of network. You can contact your insurance and inquire about this to learn if this is an option for your plan. Some helpful questions to ask your insurance provider are:

  • Do I have a mental or behavioral health policy with out of network benefits?
  • What is the coverage amount/percentage per therapy session?
  • What is my responsibility/CoPay for each session?
  • You can ask about reimbursement for CPT code 90837
  • Do I have an out of network deductible?
  • How much of my out of network deductible has been met?
  • What is the start date of the calendar year my out of network policy is based on?

The first appointment is a little different than the following appointments, because it is largely about gathering some foundational context. I will ask you to share about family history, personal background, and goals for therapy. All of this is with the understanding that we are new to each other, and trust takes time to build, so only share what feels comfortable for you at the time. We can get to any and all of it later on, as our therapeutic relationship grows.

This differs widely based on your individual situation, session frequency, and what you want from therapy! For some clients, they get what they want out of therapy in a matter of months, and for others I am happy to provide long-term services for as long as it is useful.
